Reported first by AppleInsider, Kuo states that Apple has settled on using a 6P autofocus lens manufactured by Genius for its iPhone 14's front-facing camera.
Rumours in the past have hinted at an auto-focusing front camera on the iPhone for several years now. However, this time, Kuo claims that Apple has finalised specific suppliers for camera hardware and other elements.
The leaks have been coming since March 2022, however, this is for the first time Kuo has revealed the tweet to be linked to a fuller document on Medium.
This move is proving beneficial for two companies, according to Kuo -- firstly, Genius who is the primary supplier for the 6P lens with an average selling price being 20 percent higher compared to the currently installed 5P lens.
Another company that's benefitting is CCM (china CMOS module) maker Cowell, under Luxshare ICT group after being upgraded to VCM (voice coil motor), becoming the new VCM supplier for the front camera.

Kuo revealed the entire supply chain for the front autofocus camera module with the sensor coming from Sony, lens coming from Genius and Largan, VCM coming from the Alps and Luxshare ICT, whereas CCM coming from LG Innotek and Cowell.
The iPhone 14 is expected to be available in four variants — two standard iPhone 14s and two Pro models. The mini model is expected to be discontinued allowing for a larger iPhone 14 Max instead.
Previous reports had also hinted that Apple could stick with the previous generation A15 Bionic chip for the standard iPhone 14 series with only the Pro models getting the A16 Bionic.
